When you think of spring, flowers are likely the first image that comes to mind, and for Meredith Huck, owner and principal designer of House of Huck, plants are at the forefront of design this season. "We're seeing less faux and more real—and we love it!" says Huck. "Adding bold color through simple décor pieces like fruit in a bowl or decorative elements on a shelf is an easy way to add life to an old space."

Pre-loved furnishings have been growing in popularity, and while antiques are beautiful additions all year round, vintage pieces paired with neutral color palettes are ideal for spring. "I love the return to using more found pieces in spaces with the incorporation of earthy colors," says Katie Winnington, principal designer for C&E Furniture. "There is something so beautiful about incorporating pieces that have a history into a space that gives it such a special feel."

"Layering a colorful dose of fabric to your tablescape is an instant mood booster and a great way to welcome in the season," they say. "Tablecloths are not just for the dining room—they can also be added to accent furniture for a fresh look. Tailored tablecloths are a quick and easy solution for updating a space for spring while working with your existing furniture."

"A spring trend that I am excited about is incorporating patterns and texture onto otherwise neutral spaces to make your space feel fresh and bright," says interior designer Julia Baum. "Changing out pillows is a really easy way to do this and updates your space without buying all new furniture." Baum also suggests choosing a secondary color you may want to incorporate and finding a pillowcase fabric that has that color as a focal point. This will add more dimension to your space while still playing off any neutrals.

On the other end of the spectrum, bold patterns are a great way to refresh a space for spring. "I'm excited to see the resurgence of checkerboards and stripe patterns," says Naïka André, CEO and principal designer of NJA Interiors. "I love witnessing either pattern incorporated into unexpected spaces." André suggests paying attention to scale when incorporating bold patterns into your home, noting that patterns like these are striking enough to stand on their own. "A wide-striped accent chair and matching ottoman in a reading corner make a great focal point," André says. Consider changing your area rug or adding striped throw pillows for an easy spring fix.
