REPORTS

MALICIOUS WOUNDING ON POLICE, 2024-06080069, 800 block of N. Wakefield Street. At approximately 5:00 a.m. on June 8, police were dispatched to the report of a vehicle playing loud music. Upon arrival, the officer observed a parked, occupied vehicle matching the description of the suspect vehicle. As the officer approached the vehicle on foot, the suspect began to drive away, striking the officer with the vehicle. The officer did not report any injuries. The suspect then struck a parked, unoccupied vehicle as he fled the scene. A perimeter was established and responding officers conducted a search of the area for the suspect. The suspect was subsequently located inside a residence in the 2000 block of N. Culpepper Street and was taken into custody. Taron Butler, 23, of Arlington, VA was arrested and charged with Malicious Wounding on Police, Eluding Police and Hit and Run.

MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 2024-06070101, 200 block of N. Glebe Road. At approximately 10:17 a.m. on June 7, police were dispatched to the report of an assault with a weapon. Upon arrival, it was determined the male suspect and male victim, who are known to each other, were inside a residence when they became involved in a verbal dispute that escalated to a physical altercation during which the suspect allegedly assaulted the victim with a knife. The victim exited the residence and subsequently refused medical attention for non-life threatening injuries. Responding officers issued commands for the suspect to exit the residence. The suspect exited and was noncompliant with officers before being taken into custody. During the course of the investigation, a knife was recovered. Richard Smith, 47, of Arlington, VA was arrested and charged with Malicious Wounding.

ROBBERY, 2024-06080190, 4200 block of Fairfax Drive. At approximately 4:33 p.m. on June 8, police were dispatched to the report of a robbery. Upon arrival, it was determined that a male suspect entered the business, collected items, and became engaged in a verbal dispute with employees over payment. The suspect allegedly became irate and exited the store with the stolen merchandise before reentering and threatening the employees. The suspect then fled on foot towards the metro station. A lookout was broadcast, and the suspect was located and detained in the metro station. Denzell Parker, 31, of No Fixed Address was arrested and charged with Robbery. He is being held without bond.

ARMED ROBBERY, 2024-06090249, 3000 block of Columbia Pike. At approximately 9:00 p.m. on June 9, police were dispatched to the report of an armed robbery. Upon arrival, it was determined that the male suspect entered the business, collected an item and approached the counter. The suspect brandished a firearm and demanded money from the register. The suspect then fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash. Responding police conducted a canvass of the area yielding negative results. The suspect is described as a Black male in his 50s wearing a black jacket and black pants. The investigation is ongoing.

ROBBERY, 2024-06080212, 200 block of 15^th Street S. At approximately 6:29 p.m. on June 8, police were dispatched to the report of a robbery. Upon arrival, it was determined that a male suspect grabbed the victim’s cellphone from her hands as she was walking. The suspect then fled in a silver sedan that was driven by another suspect. Responding officers conducted a canvass of the area yielding negative results. The suspect is described as a Black male, 30-35 years old, with a beard, wearing navy blue shorts and a white shirt. There is no suspect description for the driver of the vehicle at this time. The investigation is ongoing.

UNLAWFUL ENTRY, 2024-06070098, 4200 block of S. Four Mile Run Drive. At approximately 9:51 a.m. on June 7, police were dispatched to the report of destruction of property. Upon arrival, it was determined a witness allegedly observed the male suspect tampering with a pride flag affixed to a flagpole by attempting to cut it. During the course of the investigation, the suspect was identified. The witness later reported to the Office of the Magistrate, completed a criminal complaint and a warrant for the suspect was obtained for Virginia Code § 18.2-121 Unlawful Entry-Bias Motivated. The investigation is ongoing.

ATTEMPTED BURGLARY, 2024-06080007, 1800 block of N. Rhodes Street. At approximately 12:03 a.m. on June 8, police were dispatched to the report of an attempted breaking and entering. Upon arrival, it was determined the male victim was inside his residence when he heard a noise and observed the suspect attempting to enter his home. The victim yelled and the suspect fled the scene. Responding officers canvassed the area for the suspect yielding negative results. There is no suspect description. The investigation is ongoing.
