Oat milk is one of the best plant milks around because it’s vegan, and costs pennies to make at home. My unsweetened oat milk recipe is a fantastic step-by-step guide for making oat milk at home… or you can use store-bought oat milk which is equally as delicious!

Make This Mac and Cheese with Store-Bought or Homemade Oat Milk!

You can absolutely use an unsweetened store-bought oat milk, or you can easily make it yourself. All you need is oats, water, a strainer, and a blender. How Do I Make This Easy Mac and Cheese with Oat Milk?

  1. Bring a large pot of water to a boil, and cook pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set macaroni aside.
  2. In a large pot, heat the olive oil, ground mustard, salt, pepper, and oat milk over low heat. Cook until oat milk is just bubbling, then reduce to a simmer.
  3. Add in the cheeses and stir well until all have melted into the oat milk. Add the cooked macaroni to the cheese sauce, taste and add salt and pepper if needed, and enjoy.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb macaroni use certified gluten free if needed
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon whole grain mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon Sea Salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 2 cups unsweetened oat milk use certified gluten free if needed
  • 1 1/2 cups cheddar cheese *or see below Recipe Notes for my vegan cheese sauce recipe
  • 8 ounces Velveeta
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese
  • Sea Salt and Black Pepper

Instructions

  • Bring a large pot of water to a boil, and cook pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set macaroni aside.
